3 months

IWow have the last 3 months flown by! Three months doesn't seem lie that long of time but it is more than enough to know someone else controls your heart and your life now.

Unofficial stats... Weighs over 13 pounds and is longer than before.

Greta's top 10
1. Can grab toys and anything you put in front of her
2. Her smile can light up a room and heart
3. Was sleeping through the night - now at until 3 am
4. Survived mommy going back to work
5. Went to her first wedding
6. Has more clothes and shoes that a baby should have
7. Eats like a champ and takes a bottle well.
8. Loves to people watch
9. Has almost outgrown size 1 diapers
10. Gets cuter and sweeter every day

Love watching her grow each day and discover new things.

Lots of rain!

In the past few days we have gotten over 3 inches of rain. I now have my lazy river in the backyard.

Packing

Ive traveled enough for work that I have packing down for business trips... But give me the task of packing for up north when you aren't sure if its going to be cold in the morning and hot in the afternoon ... I am no good at! Then add a baby to the mix and planning for family pictures on the beach - we might as well take the whole house.

Lets hope it all fits in the truck. Oh and we have to fit a washing machine too!

Either way - I can't wait! Greta's first vacation!

Where's my awesome sleeping baby gone?!

Well we're back to not sleeping through the night. Not sure what's going on but the last 2 nights she's gotten up at 1:30 to eat. And last night she was in the mood for a little party. Smiling and talking with me. Then I finally got her to go back to sleep about 2:00 am but only in my arms  so I rested in the chair a little.

Have to figure this out. I'm hoping since she'll have no babysitters for over a week now that I can get her back in her regular schedule - if she has one.

I think she just misses me and wants more time to love on me!

This picture is from last week but I love my cuddle time!

Happy birthday Ryan

We celebrated Ryan's birthday both Monday night and Tuesday. Monday when mom was down we out a candle in his strawberry shortcake and sang.

Then Tuesday his actual birthday, he woke up to coffee made in his new coffee pot :-) and a big sign on the chalkboard. Then after work Greta and I took him out to Macs for perch - you get your bday dinner free. Greta was awake the whole time and did a little flirting with our waiter who was great and even put a candle in our ice cream. So Ryan got 2 bday wishes... Wonder what they were?!?

We've lost the garden

Last year our garden so squeaky clean... this year - not so much.  Not only did the deer find it after 2 days, grass and weeds have also found our garden.  The crops are there and look good but let's just say they are winning.  Have no fear, we are getting a rototiller and mark my words we will win the garden back.  You've been warned grass and weeds!

Great family

I could not have made it through my first week back without the support of my family. Ryan was great assuring me it would ok and get easier. And I think the only reason I believe him was because I knew Greta was home with either my mom or sister. They love her so much and I never have to worry about her when she's with them. Well except for them shaking the breast milk bottles, which is a no no. Lol!

So thank you for loving me and Greta!!

Happy Birthday Grandpa!

A surprise trip to Unionville to wish Dad a Happy Father's Day and Grandpa an early Happy Birthday.  Greta and I hit the road before 8 and texted dad when we got to Grandpa's and said surprise we are here!  Come let us in!

Grandpa was excited to see Greta again and Greta just loved hanging out on his lap.  Even if she won't remember this and if Grandpa's time is limited then I'm very grateful that I got to take these pictures and capture these memories of the two of them together!
And if he lives another 5 years then I will be even happier!

Daycare play date

I know the day is getting closer for Greta to start day care but it became very scary for me when we went for a play date. I was not at all ready but was strong and didn't cry while there. I met her 2 primary caregivers and thru were nice and Greta didn't seem to mind them at all. She had a great time, which should have helped my piece of mind but it didn't really.

Tomorrow is my first day in the office and I'm leaving Greta with mom. I know she'll be fine it's me unworried about!

Ryan's first Father's Day

Greta and I tried Ryan to a royal Father's Day - full of love and relaxation... Which is just what he needed.  Greta was nice enough to sleep in until 8 so we missed early church but got ready and headed to late church - 2 cars so Ryan could drive the chevelle (it was his mission and maybe mine too to have it done by today). Then home for a bit and to open gifts. And finally to Zingermans for a late lunch. We are way toooo much that now at 8 pm we still aren't hungry.

I feel so blessed that Greta has an amazing dad and who is wrapped around her finger. As she grows I know she is going to be a daddy's girl.

My dad

Pastor Tom had a great Father's Day sermon and the whole time I was thinking  about my dad. He talked about how important it is for fathers to teach their children about God's love - and my dad did that. How fathers need to be the spiritual leader of the family - and he was/is that. Pastor also talked about our heritage of faith and how actions speak louder than words when it comes to this. Showing your children how to fold their hands when you pray, worshipping at church together, and installing godly values into their lives.

I am so grateful that my dad did all this for me. Knowing for certain that I will have life eternal is thanks to being raised by a strong Christian father. Last thing pastor mentioned was how important it is to pass this on to the next generation. I know my grandpa did this for my dad, my dad did it for me, and I hope Ryan and I can do it for Greta.

Greta's first baseball game

A sunny Friday night Greta got to go to her first baseball game to cheer on her big cousin Kahle. She loved it and was awake most of the game.  Kahle was awesome and got the game ball.

Worst part of the night. I ask the concession people if they have some warm water to heat up my bottle. And she says yes. So I hand her the bottle and when she hands it back and it is 6 ounces instead of the 3 it started with. Yes - this lady added tap water to my breastmilk. I almost cried!

Lots of rain

We got 1.75 inches of rain last night... And that in return gave us a puppy who was half chocolate lab and half yellow. Anyone want to give him a bath for me?!

Greta's first work trip

Off to Pittsburgh Greta, mom and I went.  The ride wasn't too bad - it rained but Greta slept the whole way and we only had to stop once for her to eat and for her to get out of her car seat for a bit.  Then once in Pittsburgh we set up camp in our hotel room.  Man - does traveling with a baby require a lot of stuff.  But come to find out, at our hotel we could have requested a few things - like a bottle warmer, diaper genie, etc.  I am so bummed - I didn't get a picture of Greta and mom playing in the room.

I did survive my first time leaving her.  Tears were shed but I came back to a sound asleep baby who was perfectly fine - which I knew I would but it was still very hard.  The next day was a little easier because I still came back to the room every 3 hours or so to pump and of course see my little punkin.  Greta also went to her first convention - she was the youngest member there.

Taking a little walk down by the river.

I also learned how to travel, work, nurse, and pump.  I did not plan very well for this my first trip... ended up with way too much milk and not enough containers.  70 plus ounces in about 48 hours.

Tomorrow is her playdate at daycare and then tt's back to work full time on Monday with working 2 day from home.  Luckily she doesn't have to start daycare until July 8th so I have some time to prepare myself.

I run

Not sure I can title it that yet but I have started running in the park with Greta. I run for 5 minutes and walk for 5. My goal had been to do that 4 times and I was successful each one. Now at times I'm sure I could be walking faster birthday doesn't matter...  I have to start some where.

First 2 full days

Well I'm getting closer everyday to going back to work and dreading it a little more each day. This week I worked 2 full days from home. And that was even hard. I had no doubts she was in great hands with Aunt Mary but the thought I couldn't be with her all day stunk.

This week it's off to Pittsburgh with Greta and mom for a work event. We leave Monday morning and drive back Wednesday. This will officially be the first time I leave Greta. Tear. Year. I know I can do it... I just don't want to yet :-(
