Family fun

Ian and Jen and the boys came up for the weekend and we had a great time! Jen, Greta and I snuck away Saturday morning for a mom to mom sale... Got a few good things. Then it was time to hit up the Clinton fall festival. Ryan and Ian took the chevelle and the rest loaded in the Tahoe. It was quite warm. And a few tired soles in the great. But we got done good exercise and some yummy kettle corn. Then back home to hang and have a photo shoot with the kids which turned out great.

Love watching the boys interact with Greta. Evan is going to be a great big cousin and watch over her. He kept saying "I love Greta!" Was always wanted to check the monitor to make sure she was okay.

Also a big thank you to Jen for the birthday cake! Love celebrating all week - just going to pretend I'm staying 32 - was a great way!

Toys melt

Note to self... Some toys will melt if you put them in the microwave to sterilize them. Blonde moment of the month!

Sister fun

So I was brought to my attention that u didn't blog about Julie's visit. We had a great time. Ryan was gone golfing all weekend so I figured it was a great time for some Greta and Auny Julie bonding. We shopped and decorated and watched football and went to church. Plus Julie got me to go through the cupboards send throw out all the expired stuff. And let me tell you there was more than I thought! Thanks Jules!

Saturday fun day

Sometimes there are just days you feel like you got a lot done.  Well yesterday was one of them and they weren't things around the house.  They were things I actually wanted to do.  Greta and I checked out 2 mom to mom sales.  One big one that had 90 tables and then a WAY better concept where they had everything organized by size and gender.  So I talked in about an hour before they closed and was the only one there.  Then proceeded to walk to the 9 month section and start looking.  Greta got some great stuff including almost everything on the list.  I got another pump!  Woo hoo!  So now I can keep one at work and one at home.  A few highlights from my purchases

Then Greta had a sleep over with Karle and Kahle.  We made apple crisp for a snack.  Watched the end of Cloudy with a side of meatballs.  Then at 9:30 pm - I was the only one left awake.  Greta was out.  Ryan was snoring.  Karle was snoring.  Kahle was sleeping.  And I was left to watch the Tigers and Michigan by myself.  Oh well.  They both won!

Crockpot oatmeal

Having a sleep over with my 2 favorite little people so I decided to try overnight crockpot oatmeal since they bury said they like oatmeal. Gre hoping its good in the morning!

Update... turned out okay.  Would add more apples. And needs to be served with brown sugar and I'm thinking a little maple syrup.

Update 2.... I'm still trying to get my crock pot cleaned! Caked on oatmeal is no fun!

A healthy sized baby

Well I've known it all along... Greta is not small for her age. So I produce vitamin d milk - who cares. But this week it showed in comparison to Karle how much bigger age is.

Cute outfit - Greta wears at 5 1/2 months.... Karle wore fur her 9 month picture.

Then later in the week (because in Michigan one day can be 90 and a few days later only 60).... Greta wore this cute outfit again at 5 1/2 month. Karle wore closer to 12 months - cuz I have picture of her walking in it!

No matter what size I love her to pieces!

Europe here we come

Our flights are officially booked!! We leave on just a month for 8 days in Leuven and then Paris! .

Now we just need Greta's passport to show up and to book an apartment for Oaris. I found out that renting an apartment with a way better deal plus we'll have more room forGreta and a kitchen for stuff (mainly milk).

So excited. Nervous. Anxious.

Sleeping baby

There is nothing I love more than holding Greta and watching her sleep. She's like an angel - so peaceful and innocent. I've decided my new weekend routine just hold her and forget about everything else. Be there for her. Love her. Protect her. Be the best mommy I can be to her.

Piano

I love my new piano. I had totally forgot how much I loved playing it. It can relax me, and totally make everything disappear. Now I love it even more because Greta loves it. She sits in my lap, and either joins in with a duet it accompanies my song with her beautiful voice. Such wonderful memories and I love there will be many more like this!

Productive weekend

I love long weekends! And wear great use of it.

My hand day Friday let me go to Rolling Hills watermark with Mar and the kids. Loved it! Despite having to wait in line hour to get it. Greta loved it too. She kicked around as we floated along the lazy river and loved watching all the kids. K & K went down almost all the slides.

Saturday we did a little tailgating in AA. It was warm! But Greta made it but was one tired little girl that night.

Them Saturday around 5:30 I started the spaghetti sauce. Well at 9:30 I didn't think it was thick enough so Mary suggested putting it in the frig overnight and then finishing in the morning. So that was we did. I also made stewed tomatoes with peppers and onions.

Sunday was more canning and Ryan pressure washed the front of the house and all the window sills. Looks so much better.

Monday was more labor! Lawn mowing. Organizing all of Greta's cloths so I know what we have - there are a couple big mom to mom sales coming up.

Loved all my extra time at home. Greta also did done scooting on her back. She's quite mobile when she wants to be. And has mastered the back to belly. But I think still figuring out how to go from one to the other. But so love watching her learn new things. The excitement and wonder I'm her eyes is priceless!
