Donut making

Over these past crazy months, I’ve been brave enough to make donuts, just like my mom. This time was even more awesome because the girls pretty much did everything except fry them. 

Sauce Making

We’ve had a number crop of tomatoes and Ive been putting them to good use making salsa and sauce. And the girls have been super helpful and I love it. 

I’ve also been experimenting with roasting the tomatoes and making a couple variety of sauces. I’ll probably make 1 more batch. 

Happy Baby

Nora is such a happy baby. Her favorite thing to do lately is clap and she does it all the time, especially when you say Yah Nora. Her little face lights up and she claps! Might be my favorite part of the day (and it happens a lot ) . 

First food for Nora

Finally time for Nora to try some food. First up was avocados. The picture tell a lot as she wasn’t totally sold and made the greatest faces but eventually warmed up to them and enjoyed them. 

Nora 6 months

Happy half birthday baby girl! Wow! These last 6 months have been the fastest and slowest in record. It’s amazing how perfect she fits into the family and how much joy she brings to all of us. 

Highlights for the past month

1. Awesome sleeper - usually from 9 til 5

2. Can almost sit up with help but still a bit tipsy. 

3. Loves, loves, loves the water - pool or bathtub 

4. Has the cutest happy feet that just start kicking the most excited she gets 

5. Still loves to watch her big sisters and follows their every move

6. Has rolled over 2 times.

7. Tries to get her legs moving when on her belly (I pray she doesn’t crawl for a long while - haha).

8. Had the best smile and laugh and does both a lot - she’s such a happy baby

9. Love sitting by the garden watching mommy weed and pick

10. Is a great eater (or only milk til now). 

11. Nickname is Nora Bear - not sure why

12. Wears size 3 diapers and size 9 clothes (even a few 12 months)

13. Enjoys playing with her hands, and folding them and almost clapping. Then they always go to her mouth.

14. Has all kinds of noises and sounds, and can get quite loud. Definitely trying to compete for attention. 

We just love Nora!

Garden update

Hands down our best garden ever! Helps when you don’t have much else to do. But we’ve kept up on wedding and picking and lots of freezing. So far we have like 10 bags of beans, 10 loaves of zucchini bread, 8+ of corn and then 8 cons of corn. And starting to steam and blend some baby food.  And so much m more to do yet. 

Farewell Nanny

With all the craziness going on these past few m the, one of the best things to come of it was discovering one of the best nannies. She was so kind and patient with the girls and for her first time nannying. ‘This week we had to say good mujer as she headed off to college to swim. Many tears by everyone including myself. The girls can’t wait until she comes back and i miss her sooooo much already. 

They celebrated her last day with fancy dresses and a tea party. 

Happy 5th Birthday Lola!

One whole hand! How is that possible!? Lola celebrated her birthday tie dye style with some friends over on Friday and then grandma and papa on her big day. 

She brings so much joy and light to our lives. She’s super silly, a little stubborn, a great big sister, smart as a whip, and a whole lot of sass! Happy birthday Lola! We love you!
