Greta and Lola’s baking show

The girls love cooking shows - especially with kids. So they asked to do one. Well I wasn’t sure what they use or make so I let them make their very own muffins and ryan and I were the judges.

I made a simple batter and then we got to our whatever they wanted in it. Eek!

Greta chose white and butterscotch chips and marshmallows.  Lola choice white chocolate chips, peanut butter and marshmallows.

I baked them - a little too long even though I cooked them less than the recipe (and I was trying to feed Nora too).

Then we tasted them. They weren’t horrible -haha - and night have been better if they weren’t crispy.

And the winner - Greta for taste and Lola did creativity.

And apparently I didn’t take any pictures of the result 😢 Lets just day I’ll do it different next time.

Nora 2 months

I have no idea where the past 2 months have gone. It has been a laid back 2 months, definitely not stress free or quiet but Nora is fitting in quite nice.

1. Is a great eater - and pretty punctual between 2.5 and 3 hours
2. Has slept through the night twice now
3. Loves Greta a lot and Lola too
4. Moves her hands all the time and has been hitting herself in the face (poor girl)
5. Loves baths. Getting out of the baths, not so much.
6. Likes to be included and talked to
7. Is a spit-aper
8. Loves to watch her ceiling fan
9. Smiles and is starting to make the cutest noises
10. Enjoys going to walks outside.

Everyone is missing her like crazy and we can’t wait for people to meet her but until then we’ll just keep loving on her and kissing on her.

The last snow?

I feel I’ve been saying  this forever... this is the last snow. I wash snow pants S d out boots away and then it snows again. Ugh.

And of course that happened again. More snow. So we made the most if the very wet, wet snow.

Praying this really was the last snow.

Quarantine Easter 2020

He is risen! He is risen indeed!

Easter was not what it usually is. We usually wake up early. Find eggs and open Easter baskets. Get dressed up. Go to church. Come home and be either family.

This year we made the most of it with the Delaney 5 and I think it went okay, despite missing family.

We got dressed up on Saturday and took pictures - everyone was happy and the sun was shining.

We also died Easter eggs on Saturday and got pretty creative.

I also had to make my moms 24 hour salad myself. Good thing for FaceTime so I could get help. Turned out great!!

Sunday morning - girls got up and found Easter eggs hidden but the Easter bunny. Then I put together a treasure hunt for their Easter baskets. They loved it!

Then we had cinnamon rolls and watched church.

Then normal day while Ryan smoked a turkey for dinner.

We did another treasure hunt outside for grandmas Easter baskets.

All in all we had a great day.

Bringing the Movie Theater Home

When you’ve been cooped up for this long yu start trying to come up with new fun things to make things special. The ew Trolls movie came out today and if it weren’t for Covid19, I’m sure we’d have gone to the theater to see it. But since we can’t, I got the idea to bring the theater to our house - complete with tickets, concessions and more.

We went the girls upstairs so we could make it all happen and surprise them. And they were so giddy when they came down. Each girl had $5 to spend on tickets and food (which could also buy dinner cuz this mama wasn’t cooking too).

The hallways had posters and a tickets stand

The concession stand where they had to buy treats

The workers had name tags -

We had stadium seating and tables for their trays

And after the movie - we danced of course!

When I asked their favorite part, they both said eating candy for dinner. Sometimes you just gotta do that! Both girls said best night ever and let’s do it again. I loved it because they had such joy on their faces the entire time!

Sibling Love

I want to be able to remember these moments forever. I should have known that Greta and Nora would have a great bond. She talked and read so much to my belly while I was pregnant that I was certain after my voice, Nora would know Greta’s next. And she does. Nora follows Gretas voice and now lights up when Greta talks with her. She’s my mini mommy!

This picture and video prove it.

April 7, 2011, I went on a match date with a guy who had a good profile. Not knowing much about him, we met for dinner and drinks at Caddagh’s (which has now closed). I remember the day pretty clearly. I actually got any new equinox the day before. That day, I went to work. Then the gym and worked out. Got a pep talk from  my gym friends. And went. We talked, laughed, and truly enjoyed each other’s company. After a great date, we decided to do it ago. And the rest is history.

Here’s a few pictures from our first month together.

Middle child Lola

I think of all the changes Lola has had the hardest adjustment. She went from being my baby and Anaya’s getting what she wanted to stick in the middle. Being a middle child myself I get it but also feel it made me work harder. And I am already seeing this in Lola both good and bad working hard.

She’s loud ... always trying to get attention away from Greta and Nora.
She’s silly... trying to get a laugh from anyone.

She’s crazy... doing things Greta never would have at her age.
She’s kind... always apologizes when she does something wrong.
She’s cuddly... constantly wants to be close to you or on you.

She’s determined... wanting to be a big girl and often keeping up.

She’s helpful... willing to help me with stuff because she wants one on one time.

This maternity leave I was looking forward to spending time with her without Greta. Unfortunately that didn’t happen but we are making it and Lola will excel - I’m certain of that.
