Adult night out

It's been a long time since Ryan and I had a truly adult night out. We got tickets to see Florida Georgia Line with some friends and had a great time! Dinner before, concert, a little gambling, and then karaoke. And some drinks. So fun!!

And I felt pretty good the next day as we picked up the girls from mom's and headed north to the cabin.

Sugar fest

While Ryan and I were on our way back from the concert, Mom was brave and took both girls to the Sugar Festival. Fun was had by all. And she returned us 2 tired girls who then slept the entire trip to the cabin.

Lola and mom also road but no picture of that.

She's in the blue truck.

What a smile!! She loved it!

Best grandma - Greta/Lola trip yet!

Lola 10 months

Wow! Double digit months! I can't believe it. I still feel like I was just pregnant.

All kinds of new things for Lola this months...

1. She is mobile... Crawling every where and any where.
2. She loves mischief and can find trouble.
3. Loves the pool and swimming.
4. Doesn't like being told no... She laughs and then screams.
5. Can pull herself up on anything even if it's not sturdy enough
6. Can stand with no help for a few seconds
7. Is sleeping through the night like a champ
8. Loves Greta and chasing her around the house - wherever Greta is, Lola is close behind
9. Loves the stairs... Might have to buy a gate
10. Loves food... especially anything she can do herself.

Love this sweet girl as much... Day care is always saying how happy she always is and that she's always smiling... And she usually is. She just has this twinkle in her eye - of curiosity and joy/

2 peas in a pod

Love that Greta loves Lola and that Lola loves Greta. Lola's face lights up when Greta walks into a too or when Greta goes in the check on her after a nap or in the morning.

Made my heart happy when I walked in on this... They were both laughing it up in Lola's crib.

Swimming, swimming and more swimming

Greta loves the pool!! I'm so thankful we out it in. It's the first thing she wants to do after we get home. And she's really getting better at swimming, putting her face in and going under.

Tuesday, Lola napped at the perfect time, giving Greta and I the opportunity to swim just us! I even got Greta to take her life jacket off and swim with me. She did great! Getting more confident with everything.

My little fish!

Only bad thing with all the swimming, we sometimes miss our nap and she needs it. But oh well, we're busy making memories!!

Lola also loves the water

Garden is in

We quick planted the garden before heading south... Still need to plant peas and beans but glad we got everything else in.

Greta had a great time helping water. Lola has a great time eating dirt. I had a great time trying to make straight rows. And Ryan has a great time being my muscles.

First pool party

We had a very successful first pool party on Monday. We had three other couples over with all their kids. All from different backgrounds. One couple from church. One from my work. And one of Ryan's old college friends.

Friend Jodi and Lola and Gavin (gretas buddy).

There was definitely some tired kids at the end of the night.
Addi and Greta watching Cinderella - trying to stay awake.

Lola's personality

So Lola isn't anything like Greta. They have very different personalities.

Greta was and is content sitting and looking at books for hours... Lola can barely sit still to get her diaper changed.

With Greta, we never needed to baby proof the house and I never worried about it.... Lola, I worried when I turn my back.

Greta would nurse for hours if I let her.... Lola now turns half on her side to nurse so she doesn't miss anything.

Greta rarely put things in her mouth... Lola has put everything in her mouth since day 1.

Greta typically only got mad when she was hungry... Lola gets made when she doesn't get her way... Already. And screams. A mad Lola scream.

Just love seeing her personality develop!
