17 months

Wow! Greta is growing into such a toddler. Even though I still call her a baby, she's definitely more toddler than baby.

Top 10
1. Went to her first family reunion in Iowa and another plan ride
2. Loves fish (both to eat and watch swim)
3. Is a mommys girl
4. Has only 6 teeth - the front 4 and 2 molers - but many are close to coming through.
5. Talks a lot and knows lots of words.
6. Favorite toys is her new doll house and people - which she says so cute.
7. Loves the water! Pool, bath, sink, dogs bowl - anything!
8. Is a great eater!
9. Tells us what she wants and doesn't - very clearly
10. Kissed her first boy (non family member) at church last week.

Some days I just wish I could freeze her at this age - so fun!

Biter

Well I have a biter! Today at day care Greta bit another kit. Not a proud mommy moment. Hopefully this is the first and last time.

After she did it, she did give the little kid a kiss and hug.

Ugh!!

Let's talk about poop

Well we've had several pooping firsts in our house from Greta.  First poop in the potty. First poop on the carpet. You know, the usual. On a side note I often let Greta run around without a diaper in the evenings and sometimes after we swim.

Well we had 2 new firsts  this weekend. First poop in the kitchen. And second poop in the living room but first time we didn't know she did it and discovered it a day later.

Yes this 2nd poop in the living room was found with a big laugh out loud. I was cleaning up and her little house was on the bricks in front of the fire place. When I went to move it, I discovered the poop. Luckily it was a hard serve and not soft. But needless to have we had a good laugh over this!

Chicago fun

I had to go to chicsgo for work and asked mom to come along so Greta could too. I was staying by the airport so it was an easy sell. We left Tuesday and came back Saturday morning. We went to legoland, rainforest cafe and down a memory lane at river forest where mom when to college. A great bonding trip!

A few highlights....

Cousin fun

We had a great time at Ian and jens this weekend. I loved watching Greta interact with and play with Colin and Evan. It was priceless! We went for walks, swam, played with cars, and golfed.

So cute playing together... These two could be trouble!

Evan taking Greta for her first ride

She loved the pool

We tried to have a little photo shoot, but turned out that the impromptu photos were way better!

Here's one of the best photo shoot gone bad.

Potty training

Greta has been doing really good going on the potty. This weekend she pooped twice and peed once. One time I asked if she had to go poop and she walked right into the bathroom at Ian and jens and sat down. So I hurried... Took her diaper off... And she pooped!

Yeah Greta!

Dare devil

I've always thought Greta had no fear and over the weekend watching her play with Evan and Colin... It was confirmed. The jumped off the ottoman... Greta wanted to jump. They jumped off the rock... Greta jumped off the rock. They knocked over the little chairs and then rolled over it... Greta did the same.
(Pictures to come)

Then today back at daycare... Greta was still being a little date devil.

Oh my! We are in trouble!

Up north fun

A weekend up-north with perfect summer weather is priceless.  We lucked out... had sunny skies and temps in the mid 70s... perfect.

Greta had a great time on the beach, playing with Karle and Kahle and Grandma.  Not that we were surprised but Greta loved playing the water.  And it was by no means warm, but she didn't care - she walked around in it, splashed, kicked.

Also too funny was Greta talking and waving at her shadow.  She would point down and say Greta.  And then point at me and say mommy.  So cute!

Also trip to Onekama Days - car show, craft show, and lunch.  And of course ice cream for dessert!

Miller also got to enjoy some swimming time - which he loves

And nothing like a little family photo shoot... even with a crying, screaming, kicking baby - we got a couple good ones.  Great job Mom and Karle and Kahle for getting Greta to laugh.

Water park fun

A few more pictures from the fun at Soaring Eagle water park.  The kids had a great time!
