Chevelle gettin' some upgrades

Ryan has been hard at work on the Chevelle... quite the list of upgrades!

1) Fixed heat core
2) Rewired the dash
3) Replaced the dash insulator
4) Replaced the front ball joints
5) Working on replaced the brakes - they'll now be disc brakes so the car will stop - always a good thing!

Nesting?

Mary calls it nesting, but I'm just calling it being prepared and I'm not sure why I didn't do this sooner (ie - not pregnant).  I've been starting to stock pile a good collection of frozer dinners (not the frozen dinners you buy, but actually make).  I think to date I have about 20 meals in the freezer, plus some ground beef all fried up and and ground turkey fried up and ready to use.  Dinner range from chicken potpie and quiche to beef barley soup and noodle casseroles.

This is what my kitchen looked like before I started today.

And about 3 hours later and several meals prepared later and put in the freezer, my back and feet hurt and I want someone to make me dinner now.

Basketball Madness

March Madness came to Aubur Hills and luckily for us - both Michigan and MSU were playing there.  So Dad, Mom, Ryan and I all headed up there for a day of basketball on Saturday.  It was awesome!!!  Both teams won, there were lots of dunks and excitement, and I got to spend another day out before Baby D comes.

Doll Bed Makeover

As kids we used to play all the time with this toy doll bed that used to be my mom's.  And as you can imagine with 3 girls, it got a lot of use.  Well I decided I wanted to add it ot the baby's room, but after a little makeover to make it fresh and new (and to cover up the pen marks all over the one side - which one of us did that???)  It also needed some structural fixes - that Ryan did for me.  So now it's sturdy and ready for toys and fun for Baby Delaney.

I'm a model again

It was like our wedding all over again.... except not quite as hot and nice outside (but we did luck out with 55 degrees and the majority of the snow had melted).  Misty came over again to take some maternity pictures and I'm super excited about how they turned out.  Although I realize that maybe I should have gotten them taken a little sooner so I wouldn't have felt so fat... but as Mary keeps say... you aren't fat, you are pregnant.

Here are a couple of my favorites.

Misty also wrote an awesome blog post about our session... love her writing style and how she captured the moment.  http://mistyminna.com/blog/abbey-ryan-maternity-ann-arbor-family-photographer/

Baby's Room Decorating Day

The baby's room got some finishing touches put on today... shelves, pictures, and more.  After my IKEA shopping trip, I was excited to get things put up and with only 4 weeks left to go, I want to make sure everything is ready too.  I've even started my bag packing (although it's really only a pile right now).  My master craftsman and handyman did a great job laying everything out... I think we might have found our new calling.  Anyone need a baby room decorator?

I only need to order the tree decal for the other wall and the room is ready for Baby D!

Day of shopping with Mary

Mary and I were on a mission... a shopping mission that was.  I attended my first Mom-to-Mom sale and got 2 big items that were on my list - a swing (which I paid less than half of what it sold for at Babies R Us) and a jumpy exerciser (which was also quite cheap).

We probably would have been much more successful in the clothes department had we known the sex of the baby, but since we don't that will have to be the next sale's mission.  Then it was off for lunch at Benigan's - yummy - to build up our energy for IKEA... on a Saturday, which after going, we vowed never to do again.  But we fought through the crowd and got some great things at an even better price... love that.

Then I drug Mary to Hobby Lobby for some accessories to the baby's room and also to Bath and Body Works to get a few things for my nurse's gifts (that I plan to take to the hospital with us).

And then finally back to my house... 8:30 am to 4:00 pm is a long time to be out shopping.  But loved every minute of it!
