14 months old

She's growing up too fast.  I'm loving this age as she's able to communicate more and is quite a little comedian.

Top 10
1. Finally got her first tooth and then another.  We are up to 2!
2. Can go up and down the slide all by herself.
3. Got a breathing machine :-(
4. Took her first trip to Greenwood, IN
5. Had her first ice cream cone
6. Went pee on the potty for the first time
7. Favorite book is anything with Curious George
8. Loves, loves, loves her baby dolls
9. Is a good eater but when she's done likes to throw her food - not okay with mommy
10. Can sing part of Twinkle, twinkle little star

I just love her more every day.

Proud mommy!

Greta peed on the potty this morning. Every morning I sit her on the potty and she just sits. This morning as I was changing her diaper I asked if she needed to go potty and she said yes and walked into the bathroom. So I followed and sat down on the big potty to go and Greta on the little potty.

And holy cow she went!!! I was so excited that if I wasn't already on the toilet I might have peed my own pants - lol!

Proud Greta!

Happy 2nd anniversary!

Two years ago today I got to marry my perfect match! We've had a great second year with some more firsts, including surviving our first year of parenthood and family trips to Europe and Arizona. But the most wonderful thing is spending time at home enjoying our family.  Like watching her dance in the restaurant while enjoyed our anniversary dinner.

It's pretty sad that I looked and looked and found only one picture of just Ryan and I. Last year I made a whole slide show of the pictures... this year it would look just like the one I made for Greta's first birthday.  She's in them all.  So that is something I want to work on for the next year - lol.

So here it is - the only picture of the two of us!  Happy 2nd Anniversary babe!

PS - if anyone has any others - send them my way.

Ice cream cone

Well it's happened... I have an ice cream monster on my hands!  Greta had her first ice cream cone tonight and enjoyed every lick until I took it away from her thinking she would get sick.  She was covered from nose to toes in strawberry ice cream.  Such a great memory!

Greta's first trip to Greenwood

Over Memorial Day, Greta took her inaugural trip to Greenwood to see out with Grandmother and Granddad and Uncle Ian, Aunt Jen, Evan and Colin.

Friday night we partied with the Greenwood gang.  Despite having a temp of 103 when we got there, she soon warmed up and had a great time.

Then on Saturday, we took a nice walk around the neighborhood and then spend the rest of the day hanging out in the backyard.  Greta even had her first ride in a wagon!

Celebrating Bob and Rebecca's 40th anniversary a little early.

Sunday, was more outdoor fun with a trip to the park.  A hard fall there.  Then listening to the Indy 500 on the radio - a first for me too!

Amazing family + beautiful weather = a great weekend!

Two teeth and counting

Greta finally got her 2nd tooth in!  Yeah!  Think it's quite possibly what was causing the fevers and crankiness this weekend.

Here's a pretty good picture of both of them!

My little bed hog

So Greta has been waking up at 2:00 am the past two nights and not really interested in sleeping. She'd really like milk... In between cries that is what she signs- pretty adamantly too.

Usually after 40 minutes of rocking and trying to get her back to sleep, I bring her in bed with us. And then she takes over. Usually at some point she just sits on me. Then flops down on me. And I'm paranoid about rolling over on her so I give her even more room.

This was her this morning... Not sure where the other sock is - lol.

One smart cookie

So I've known it all along but today day care confirmed that Greta is smart! They said Greta was following two set instructions and I guess that's pretty impressive at her age. Kristi would ask her to get a block and she'd get it and then look at her like now what?! So Kristi asked her to stack them and she did!

Proud mommy moment.

2014 garden is in

and it's official... Greta's Garden is planted and oh my... it's bigger and better than ever.

Got to thank Kahle and Mary for coming over and rototilling the garden.

We all also went and bought plants for the garden. This years lineup includes - tomatoes, yellow, red and green peppers, jalapeños, banana and Hungarian peppers, peas, beans, radishes, beets, onions, broccoli, cauliflower, summer squash, zucchini, spaghetti squash, and sweet corn. Holly ice seems like a lot when I type it all it.

Here's my hope that it doesn't get grassed under like last year.

Shoes la la

Karle and Kahle got me the book Shoe La La for my 30th birthday (or at least I think that's when)... well it's now quite appropriate because Greta loves shoes! And she can even say shoe too.  Now every morning, she brings me 2 shoes to put on.  Sometimes they match and sometimes they don't.  But I happily put on whatever shoes she brings me.

Here's just a couple pictures of here trying on shoes.

Sick again!

If it's not me, then it's Greta. I just don't understand why she keeps getting sick?!? I thought breastfeed babies were supposed to be healthier. Ugh! We went to the doctor in Tuesday after she had a fever Sunday night and then at day care. Tuesday morning it was 103.9! Freaking out! Diagnosis... Ear infection and need a breathing treatment machine. Now a full 48 hours later and I don't think she's better at all. Possibly worse. So we are going back tomorrow.

I just want her to feel better for more than a couple weeks!

Finally... A tooth!

It's finally happened. A tooth has poked through! 13 months and 1 day. I imagine they are going to start coming in at a crazy pace now. She seems to be handling it okay... Partly thanks to Motrin.
