Garden

Our garden is doing quite well this year.

We've already enjoyed radishes, a few peas, and kale. We also have peppers ready to go.

Ryan did an awesome job rototilling the garden this weekend and also planted the rest of the sweet corn.

And our pumpkins finally died! Yah!

Lions, tiger and bears oh my!

Greta's first trip to the zoo is in the books.  On our way back from Unionville, Julie and Greta and I went to the Frankenmuth Zoo.  I was quite impressed at the animals they had and Greta loved it.  She kept pointing at all the animals.  She did not like the calf that tried to nibble at her skirt though in the petting zoo area.

It was small enough that we walked around for about an hour and a half and that was plenty for all.  Then we quick went and had lunch and by then Greta was ready for a nap.  I think she was sleeping before we even pulled out of the parking lot.

I love watching her explore and experience new things.  I can just see the wheels turning as she tried to process everything.

Happy 96th birthday Grandpa!

Another year has gone by for Grandpa and he's now in his 96th year of life.  Amazing!  Even though he lives in an assisted living facility in Caro, Grandpa is still doing quite well for 96.  Despite not being able to see well, he still hears pretty good and got to hear Greta chat it up.  So glad we drove up to help celebrate.

While home, Greta also got to go for a tractor ride with Papa and put her toes in Papa's pool (which she loved).

Deck construction is under way

Super excited! Our deck is getting built. Ground broke for the deck and the new door was installed on Tuesday.

Update after Mondays work

My work

Since Greta was born, I rarely post about me and my work.  But after a very successful week - I am going to tell about my job.  RAPID is our biggest show of the year and luckily this year it was in Detroit.  This was my first RAPID managing all by myself (last year I was on maternity leave, leading up to the RAPID and the first day of the show was my first day back).  I'm proud to say that everything was a success.  The new booth was awesome.  The slot car track was a hit.  The 3D printed slot car championship was amazing and everyone had a great time at the reception. I even ended up MCing the event (and found out I was going to do it like 5 minutes before having to go on).

Check out this video that was made http://materialise.com/slot-car-at-RAPID

It's moments like this that make me love my job.  I also have to thank my amazing mom and sister for picking up when my mommy time is limited.  We are blessed to have such a great support system.

Greta's first sleep over

Greta had her first sleep over at Aunt Mary's with grandma.  And it was a success.  I might have encouraged Greta to have a party in the middle of the night... and she did! Up from about 3:30 to 4:30 but other than that all good.  Everyone had a great time with her.  She even got to see Karle and Kahle play ball.

When I finally got home from work the next night, she seemed so much older and was talking lots more.  Can't believe how fast she's growing up.

Thanks Mary and Mom for taking care of my baby.

My water baby

Greta loves water!  In the bathtub, the hose, the facet, bowls of water.  You name it.  She's going to love doing some swimming this summer.

She also loves running around naked after her baby, which is quite funny.

Fun weekend

A great, relaxing weekend at home with beautiful weather.  We did some shopping, played outside a lot, planted some more in the garden and some plants out front, had a picnic, and played with the dogs.

Ryan also started getting ready for the deck, which should start in a couple weeks.
