Happy 2nd birthday Greta!

My how time flies when you're having fun. I can't believe Greta is already 2. It's crazy. She's growing into such a little kid.  Talking up a storm, doing lots of things, trying new things.  We celebrated her day by going to the Sea Life Aquarium, having lunch at Rain Forest Cafe and then home for cafe.  I think by like 6:30 she was ready for bed.  So much fun!

Her life size Elsa balloon from Daddy.

Her mini George cake.

Cinnamon roll breakfast with candles that she had no problem blowing out.

Presents - she loves opening presents!

It's been a great year and many first. A few that come to mind.

First tooth and 11 more (or I think because she won't let me check the back)
First time going on the potty

First time watching a movie at home

A few more highlights
Counts to 14 - then goes back to 11 - lol.

Things Greta said

A few things Greta said to me today

"There's no geese in the water only ducks." And she was right!

"This cup matches my shirt." And it did. Bright flourescent yellow.

I lost my phone this morning. And after school she said, "you found your phone?"  Such a good memory!

She never ceases to amaze me!

The sequel's ultrasound

Well not only us the sequel firstly, he or she is also stubborn. Sequel wasn't cooperating and at one point, the tech gave me chocolate and water to try and get the baby to move positions. Several full bladders later. We finished. Greta did a good job despite having a fever we found out that night. Mom got to see the sequel as well and thought it was super cool.

The 2 ultrasound pictures if Greta and the sequel look very similar.

A sleepover with 2 of my favorites

It's been a while but we got to have a sleepover with 2 of my favorites - Karle and Kahle so Maru and Scott could enjoy a Murdet Mystery dinner.

We had a great time -Greta just loved having them here and was all about trying to be a big kid like them. And man can they get her to laugh and giggle. So fun that they had Ryan and i busting up too.

Dinner out, a car ride with Frozen music, movie and popcorn, games and more!

Pet peeves at the airport

1. People who put there phone on speaker and either listen to messages or take to someone... Really?? What's the point?
2. Sit at a charging station but aren't charging anything.
3. Standing people in the walking moving escalator line
4. People stopping right in the middle of the walk way to check their bag, hair, wedgie, you name it.
5. Obnoxious, drunk, loud talkers - had to leave the restaurant cuz she was giving me s headache.
6. Women wearing 5 or 6 inch heels. Really? What's the point?

Weird thing witnessed
2 people eating corn on the cob waiting for their plane... Where the heck do you get corn on the cob at the airport?!?

The Sequel is fiesty

So I'm making a prediction now... the sequel is going to be feisty and energetic.  Maybe I just know what it feels like this time, but holy cow.  This baby is feisty and always on the move.  Kicking, flipping, turning - you name it!  And last night, Ryan finally get it as well!  Which made me feel a little better than I wasn't just imaging it all.

This Friday is our big ultrasound.  So excited to see the baby and see what Greta thinks of it.  New pictures to come soon!

Temper Tantrums

Well... one week until she's two, and the temper tantrums are here and with as stubborn as she is, they haven't ended very well.  I guess luckily for me, they have all been at home.

She flops down, kicks, screams, cries, throws things. And when it' really bad, hits me. And can be over things like I picked the wrong cup, getting her diaper changed, which book we read first.

Still trying to figure out the best way to deal with her when she gets like that.  With as smart as she is, usually reasoning with her helps or the art of distraction.  But for the most part, I walk away and when I come back, she's worked it out.

Spring? Is that you?

I can spell it and am finally starting to see it.  The snow is almost all melted and for a few days we had some nice warmer temperatures, which Greta and I loved!  We got to play in the big puddles, take stroller kids, got out the little red car, did some sliding, jumping on the neighbor's trampoline, so fun!

I'm so looking forward to the rest of spring and summer!  Greta is going to be a blast!

Frozen on Ice

I'm so glad I spent the money and bought the tickets to go see Frozen on Ice.  She did a great job at the show, sitting on my lap and watching.

And the face she made when Mickey and Minnie skated out was priceless!  And then even bigger when the rest of the Disney characters came out.  And finally when all the Frozen characters came out, she was so excited! What a great thing to watch moments like that through her eyes.

A cute moment during the intermission... we sat next to a very nice mom and daughter an they had popcorn.  Well Greta loves popcorn, and walked over to the mom and looked at her and then the popcorn and said please.  The mom graciously let her take some.  Then Greta proudly came back over to me and Ryan and ate it and then went back for more.  Too cute.  I thought about buying her some of her own but decided $12 was crazy!  So she shared a few kernels with our new friends - lol.

Definitely think we'll have to drive over to Disney for a day when we are in Florida.  I can only image what Greta will do if she sees Anna and Elsa up close or Mickey!  So excited!

Our anatomy

Well Greta discovered another body part. My boobs. Now it could be because they hand already gotten quite large. But nonetheless. We were sitting on the couch and she starts poking at them. What that mommy? And I said that's mommy's boobs. And she repeats boops? And I said no boobs. We giggled and this went back and forth.

So the next day I'm carrying her up the steps and she again asks what they said and I say my boobs. And she repeats. And then says I have boobs too. and I said yes you do and they'll get bigger when you get older.

I'm sure this is just the start of it. Haha.

A fun and busy weekend

Well not s great start to the weekend when daycare calls and says Greta just puked 4 times and you'll need to come get her. Luckily it was 4 o'clock. I rushed over and get her and we almost made it home before she puked twice more . Yuck. No sense stopping since we were less than a half mile from home so I hurried on and got home and opened the door to s baby covered in puke. No fear. I handled it. And got her cleaned up and we cuddled on the couch watching her favorites.

But by 730 she was good as new running around like a crazy child. Super excited Grandms was there.

So Saturday morning Grandma, Greta and I headed off to swimming class - me praying that I don't have the kid that pukes on the pool. And nope. Still good.

A quick stop at Walmart... All good. A shorty nap in the way home.

Then off to the Michigan basketball game which they dominated and Greta had a great time. Dancing. Clapping. Eating popcorn. And still all good.

Then home and Ryan and I headed out for a date! Dinner and the comedy
club. And possibly the best ice cream we've ever had! We had a great time! And  even stayed out til past 10. Haha!

Sunday was made for relaxing. And that we did! Greta also get to play with beans and help crack hard boiled eggs and peel them.... Which she really liked.

He's hoping we have a great week and all the snow is gone by the weekend!

Do you wanna build a snowman?

We enjoyed some fun outside today - temps were above 40 and the snow was finally good for snowman building.

We definitely weren't prepared but we improvised and it didn't turn out too bad for the first one ever.

Stubborn

So not that it's new but Greta is stubborn and oh so smart. I was trying to get her to go on the potty and after a huge glass of watered down juice and over an hour of shows - she refused to go. Even though I knew for sure she did. So I out on her big girl underwear and pants and go get lunch ... When I return she's already peed her pants. Seriously!! She held it that entire time.

Ugh! This might be harder than I thought.

A great escape to the cabin

I love dad's and J&J's cabin... No or little cell phone coverage, beautiful scenery, wildlife, outdoor fun and lots of food. Oh and this time Netflix!

We were all so excited to escape to spend the weekend with dad, Julie and Jason. And it didn't disappoint. Many laughs were had, Julie turned into a dare devil. Greta's love for 4-wheelers grew and sleds not so much.

Highlights from the weekend.  Thanks for a wonderful time!
