So... Friday began with date night! And I'm not sure how, but I convinced Ryan to take me to the see the new Twilight movie (which I had been talking about since it came out - maybe that's why he gave in). Major brownie points for him. But first we headed to Dan's - the local bar in Saline that we love for some food and drinks pre-movie (maybe that helped Ryan sit through it all - LOL!) But the movie didn't disappoint and I'm even more excited now for the next one!
Saturday... up and at 'em around 8:00 am and I don't think we sat back down again until 8:30. Ryan was off to the lake house to meet our friend Mike who was going to help him move our awesome frig from the lake house to our new house. (We found a new frig for the lake house on craigslist). So the boys loaded it up to bring over. While they are doing that - I head out to run some errands - Christmas lights at Lowe's and a pick up at Lowe's (that I ordered online). Well after they couldn't find my online order - the shopping frustration began. I took them about 30 to 40 minutes (literally) to find my online purchase. Then they find part of it, but not all of it. Then they tell me that they are out of the Christmas lights that I ordered. Finally find it all! Seriously! Lowe's and I were not getting along so well! Then over to Target to get more Christmas lights since Lowe's was out of mine that I ordered online and paid for. Grr! (see 2 days later and I'm still upset about it - LOL). Target was much better... and over to Meijer for a few things (mainly beer) and then back home to meet the boys who had made it to the house with the "new" (old) frig - in one piece, well almost all of it - one shelf didn't quite made it but not a problem!
The frig disaster |
Okay - so picture this... now we have 2 refrigerators in the kitchen, plus all the insides of the one laying on the floor, all the Christmas stuff scattered around the house, Christmas lights in piles, 2 baskets of clean laundry waiting to be folded and put away, and 1 spastic dog. (Picture just doesn't capture the mess) First we tackle the outside Christmas lights since it was 40 and pretty calm out. We lucked out as the previous owners left us all their outside - custom decorations - 2 large wreaths for the lamp poles and then wreaths for all the colums on the house (with spot lights. So after putting up all the wreaths and saying, we will have to buy new bows next year, I discover we have new bows for them all... so back up the ladder to take off the old bows and put on the new bows. Then we put the garland around the front door and lights. We had planned to do some trees and icicles, but those lights were yet to be found. Then garland and lights on the railing all the way to the upstairs.
Stairs |
And we finally decide to take a break and go to Lowe's... why I'm not sure, but we go. We return some lights that I bought for the shrubs in the front - those nets things don't really work all that well. And while there decide to get new pulls for the kitchen cabinets - 56 to be exact! Oh yeah and why we went - so Ryan could get a piece of wood for the cabinets (since the new old frig is wider that the one there).
Family room |
Then back home and Ryan starts working on the frig opening and I continue to decorate. We finally give up about 8:00 and call it a night on the couch with some football. We didn't do too bad and actually stayed awake through the 3rd quarter.
