My first show

Hard starting a new job... but the test for me was my first tradeshow with BigRep.  IMTS for a week in Chicago.  I drove down on Sunday with a car full of stuff and then drove home Thursday afternoon.

Super successful show and learned a lot and was very proud of myself so knowing as much as I did.  I also got to see lots of my industry friends and have dinners and drinks with them - which I loved.

A few highlights from the week and my team!

Ryan helped fix this part!! It got warped shipping from Germany to Switzerland to Detroit. The team was so excited.

Greta's first work trip

Off to Pittsburgh Greta, mom and I went.  The ride wasn't too bad - it rained but Greta slept the whole way and we only had to stop once for her to eat and for her to get out of her car seat for a bit.  Then once in Pittsburgh we set up camp in our hotel room.  Man - does traveling with a baby require a lot of stuff.  But come to find out, at our hotel we could have requested a few things - like a bottle warmer, diaper genie, etc.  I am so bummed - I didn't get a picture of Greta and mom playing in the room.

I did survive my first time leaving her.  Tears were shed but I came back to a sound asleep baby who was perfectly fine - which I knew I would but it was still very hard.  The next day was a little easier because I still came back to the room every 3 hours or so to pump and of course see my little punkin.  Greta also went to her first convention - she was the youngest member there.

I also learned how to travel, work, nurse, and pump.  I did not plan very well for this my first trip... ended up with way too much milk and not enough containers.  70 plus ounces in about 48 hours.

Tomorrow is her playdate at daycare and then tt's back to work full time on Monday with working 2 day from home.  Luckily she doesn't have to start daycare until July 8th so I have some time to prepare myself.



Back to work - kind of

Time is going to fast and I'm not ready to go back to work at all.  But I'm easing back into it by working a few half days from home and then roading tripping to Pittsburgh with my mom and Greta for a few days and then back to work full time (2 at home and 3 in the office).  My heart aches already just thinking about it but I'm praying the God helps me though everything that is to come.

But my sweet baby girl has been a trooper while I'm working at home and napping good and playing good while I'm on the phone or a conference call.

My new job

I started my new adventure today at Materialise.  And my first day went as good as a first day can go. I'm really like I'm going to like my new company and position.  Lots of new projects and experiences lie ahead of me and a couple trips to Belgium.  I'm excited and nervous at the same time.  But I keep telling myself that God won't give me more than I can handle and am capable.

Last day at Hino

It's a sad and happy day at Hino.  I've had a great 4 years and 2 days here and am very grateful for all the opportunities Hino has given.  I'm also very sad to be leaving some great co-workers. It's going to be a hard day but it's time to move on.

But on the happy side on Monday, I am starting a great new adventure and am very excited for what lies ahead.

Changes Coming

Today I made a big decision... and if you know me, I'm not big on decisions.  But I will be starting a new chapter in my life soon.  I accepted a Marketing Manager position with Materialise in Plymouth.  I'm pretty excited, very nervous, and I think ready.  I'm expecting a counter from Hino, but we'll see what happened. 

And we leave tomorrow for Alaska!  So so so excited!!  Dad, Julie and Jason saw a mama bear and her 4 cubs yesterday.  Pretty exciting! 

Power Trip to CA

A quick trip to California for work... I left Thursday morning at 8:25 am and was on the red home Friday night.  A very fast and tiring trip after not adjusting to the CA time.... But a very cool sight was flying into the sun rise.

Work Madness

Pardon my rant, but I just can't post this to Facebook.  Work has been an absolutely zoo.  And it seems that all the work is being dumped on my plate. Don't get me wrong, I love to work and love being busy.  But my work level has reached a new level and when I look at the cube next to me and they are reading a magazine, my frustration just get higher.

Okay... enough about my rant. Off to California on Thursday for a quick 2 day trip training session with our dealers and then a much needed week of vacation with no wedding planning or preparation to do.  But the will be a lot of puppy loving.  We are picking up Miller this Saturday.  Look out now... our family of 3 will soon be 4... 2 humans and 2 dogs.

Disappointment

Well I got some disappointing news yesterday... I didn't get the job.  I guess God must have bigger and better plans for me.

Big Day

Big day today... I'm interviewing for my boss's position - Marketing Manager.  Yikes!  Here's hoping for the best!

UPDATE:  Went well!  Should hopefully hear something next week.  Praying for the best!
