After planting 6 apple trees a year and a half ago we have some beautiful flowers in them. Hoping that means we'll get some apples this year.
When I look back years from now, I want to be able to reflect on all the events and amazing blessings God has bestowed on us.

Biggest Snow Fall of the Winter
Well we finally got a good snow fall... only problem was that first it rained, and then sleeted ice, and then finally snowed - heavy, wet snow - probably about 5 inches which was the most we had gotten at one time all winter. But of course with heavy, wet snow on top of ice... it brought down lots of trees by us and of course our power. Go figure. Thank goodness we bought that generator last time. We lots power for about 20 hours and were very thankful when it finally came back on.

Cold and Rainy Saturday
Well the first day of fall felt a little bit more like early winter. It was cold and rainy and actually hailed a little in Jonesville. Ryan and I headed over to watch Kahle play soccer. And he did great. Scored some goals, passed the ball so others could score goals. Definitely a little athlete there.
Then we hang out for a bit and had lunch at Saucy Dogs and then checked out Jenny and Stuart's new house and then back to the Welden's. I got to play a little Sorry and read some books... great day!
Now back home to the couch to watch some football and snuggle in on this cold, cold day. Thinking we should get the fireplace going.

Love Rain
God has finally been blessing us with some rain. Last night we got another 0.6. Our grass is green and we are having to mow the grass at least once a week. We could probably be moving it more, but just won't have time. It makes me laugh since all summer I think we mowed it a total of like 3 times and this month already we have mowed it more than that. Still waiting for a good thunderstorm but I guess I can just settle for rain.

Finally some rain
The rain finally found us... after many weeks without any, Sunday we got 0.15 inches of rain and then yesterday we got a half inch of rain! Doesn't sound like much, but our grass isn't totally dead anymore and the garden really appreciated God's rain instead of water from the well. Let's hope the next stretch of time betweens rains isn't quite so long.

Spring to Summer
So just like that we skipped spring and went right to summer! Yesterday it was 79 degrees when I was driving home from work at 5:00 pm. Crazy right?! That's not even the best part. After dinner, Ryan and I took a walk down the lane and I told him if felt like the night he proposed... only that was August, not March, but the temperature was about that same. Ryan joked that the only thing missing was the mosquitos. But have no fear... as we were sitting on the back porch enjoying the sunset... the mosquitoes decided to join us. Really? Mosquitoes in March?! Please no!

Snow... finally! And Christmas again
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! And even though it is January 14th... it was Christmas (for the Ewald side of the family). And we finally got some snow. I shouldn't have been surprised either because for whatever reason it always snows before I have the Ewald side family Christmas... and yup, today was the party so of course it snowed. We got about 3 inches or so of fresh white powder! And that meant it was time to fire up the quad and see how well she plows show. Ryan drove out to the barn, all bundled up in his new carharts.. Thanks Mom! And I waited until he drove up and then got bundled up to shovel the front walk. So nice outside, no wind. Just nice refreshing winter. And the Quad works great!!
I also got to do my first snow angel of the season... love doing snow angels. However, I've never done a snow angel around Joey and he thought I was playing with him and kept jumping over me and grabbing my gloves, quite comical - so my snow angel doesn't look the best.
We also hosted our first party at the house - 16 people - which fit just perfect. Lots of food and some good card playing - even though the women lost.

Rain vs. Snow
So I decided today - that I definitely like rain better than snow. It has been raining for about 24 hours straight and I'm okay with that... because if that had all been snow, I think I'd be snowed in. However the weather people (who you never know if you can believe), say that it's going to change to snow soon and that we could get 6 to 10 inches! SERIOUSLY! It's only November. I just keep telling myself, I like the rain and I promise to not complain about the rain if it only stays as rain! If it switches to snow, I'm definitely going to complain!

Lazy Week
Well, this week has been very unproductive at the farm. I've been sick all week and Ryan hasn't been feeling very good either. So that has meant spending every night on the couch enjoying our fireplace. And on top of not feeling good, it's been cold and rainy all week. I am definitely not ready for winter yet.
Even Joey is feeling the burn.
