Spring Break 2021

A run down of our spring break 2021. We thought heading to the mountains would be a good, covid safe vacation... but so did everyone else. And the mountains were so busy and I’ve never seen so many traffic jams. But we tried to make the most of it and the girls had fun.

Day 1 - drive to Cincinnati and go to the Zoo.

Favorites

Greta: obstacle course activities at zoo, cotton candy, swimming at hotel

Lola: obstacle course activities at zoo, swimming at hotel

Nora: swimming at hotel

Ryan: meting Fiona, the hippo

Abbey: meeting Fiona, the hippo

Day 2 - drive to Sevierville, TN and stay at cabin foe 2 nights

Lola: swimming the pool and hot tub at cabin

Greta: swimming in pool and hot tub at cabin

Nora: scooting around the cabin

Ryan: driving through the mountains

Abbey: not the cheeseburger and not the drive up to the cabin

Day 3 - go to the Smoky Mountains with everyone else. Do the Cades Cove drive and see old buildings.

Lola: old houses, best hot dog and milkshakes

Greta: old houses, yummy milkshakes

Nora: milkshakes

Ryan: water wheel

Abbey: Apple Mountain for lunch - best fried chicken ever! When it rained in the truck sun roof and we all laughed

Day 4: leave cabin and drive to Knoxville, TN to check out Ijam Nature Preserve and then continue to Florence, KY foe the night (Gretas birthday)

Greta: opening presents in the morning.

Lola: climbing down the rocks at Ijams

Nora: swimming - she’s a fish

Ryan: board walk at Ijams in Knoxville

Abbey: cool, uncrowded hike in Ijam Nature Center - despite losing pink leap hang paci.

Day 5

Greta: ear piercing and American girl store

Lola: American girl store

Nora: swimming

Ryan: tenderloin sandwich

Abbey: going home

Lessons learned- hungry kids are no fun. Keep them fed to prevent a huge melt down.

Smokey Mountains are not peaceful and there is lots of traffic

Don’t hike with a paci on top of the stroller... it will fall off and there will be sadness.

Babies have limited of being in the car, Nora reached hers on day 4 around 415 pm.

Always an adventure and more fun times to come. Next time I’d love a beach and maybe no kids - haha!
