Sick sick Lola

Sunday: Lola started getting a nasty cough, but not too bad and it didn't seem to bother her too much

Monday: Lola sent to school but when she came home was definitely not herself.  The cough was really bad and she has so much snot.  A sleepless night for both of us since she'd only kind of relax on me.  Also she was coughing so hard she threw up... in my hand.

Tuesday: Call the doctor first thing in the morning.  Take her in - definitely hear wheezing and no pneumonia.  Try a breathing treatment at the office, with no improvement in her breathing so that eliminated croup and a few other issues.  So diagnosis - antibiotics for a sinus infection and a virus.

That night, little sleep again, but I brought her into bed with me and that helped a little. Also discovered that Lola hates taking medicine.  I tried to hide it in anything and everything.

Wednesday: I sent her to school - they love her so much there I know she's in good hands. I pick her up at 5:15 pm and as I walk in, they say she just spiked a fever. I bring her home, give her some medicine in her apple juice and she seems a little more comfortable.

We slept a little better, but still with me.

Thursday: Back to school, she went - because I'm a horrible mom (or at least I felt like that).  12:00 pm, I get a call saying Lola coughed up blood.  Panicked I leave work.  Call the doctor.  They don't have anyone that can immediately see her and I should go to the ER.  I quickly stop at home, get the diaper bag and rush to day care.  I get there and she's sleeping and looks miserable.

We rush to the hospital.  And then the 5 hour process begins.  They do a chest x-ray. Negative.  They test her for whooping cough (found out the next day, it was also negative).  Try a breathing treatment - no response again.  Diagnosis (again after 5 hours) - Bronchiolitis - which is a nasty virus.  The Good news was that day 4 - 5 are the worst and we were on day 4.

Friday: Lots of cuddling and rest. Still not her normal Lola self. But slept much better and took a couple naps during the day

Saturday: Rest in the morning and Kahle's basketball in the afternoon.

And now a little more than a week later, she's 95% better.  So great to have my sweet Lola back!

Glad she's getting better. She had what Aunt Gail had.
