4 months in

16 weeks down, only 24 to go.
When asked "How I'm feeling?" My standard response is good. And really that not a lie. With the exception of being tired - which isn't that new. I've had no morning sickness so that's a plus. Most of my pants still fit but can't be buttoned. Boobs (yes I'm going there) are back! Glad I invested in sone really good bras last time :-)

Also felt the baby flutter a couple times. Love that feeling and am excited for the soccer / gymnastic match to begin - especially if he or she is anything like Greta was.

Dr. Appointment - 3/4/15
Baby's heartbeat was good - around 145 - 150.
Finally gained some weight and am now up 3 1/2 pounds.

See that small little bump :)

Now just waiting for the big ultrasound at the end of the month.

Swimming Lessons have begun

So as a last minute sign up - I registered Greta for swimming lessons at Saline Rec Center and so glad I did.  She loved it!  A little hesitant at first but by the end was having a great time.  And so impressed by how much they did - jumped in from the side, went down the slide, went under - and I mean all the way under!

I'm excited for the next 6 weeks - will probably sign her up again.  And was great exercise for me too!  We were both pooped afterwards.

Puked on

Well last weekend Greta puked.  This week, she got puked on!  NASTY!  Her little friend (won't name names, but she told me who) spit on her.  That was Greta's explanation.  It was all over her and one of the teachers.  In her hair, ears, clothes.  They cleaned her up as best they could and even gave her a couple make shift baths.  But when I arrived at 5, she still smelled!  And so did her blankie and love.  Oh my!

As as soon as we got home, we fed Miller an then straight to the bath!  Lots of bubbles to make her clean again.

Then the rest of the night it was Boy (she'd say his name) spit on me.  LOL!

Greta's observation of Miller

Funniest thing tonight... I literally almost peed my pants. When playing In the family room, Miller rolled onto his back all sprawled out. Greta went over to him and was laughing and giggling. And thought it was funny. The she blurts out... look it's Millers belly button!!! He's got a belly button like me.

I was struggling to keep it together. Luckily Ryan was there to ask other questions and change the subject.

But I could stop laughing. So not his belly button, but you go ahead and think that until you are older. Hahaha!!!

Baby #2 on is on the way

On a whim, I took a pregnancy test on November 28th - when we got back from Thanksgiving in Greenwood.  I had told myself that if I was pregnant I would do something cool for Ryan for Christmas.  Well I was so shocked because I didn't think I was pregnant, that I couldn't help myself and ran into our room and shouted the good news and showed him the test.  Once the shock wore off, he was just as excited as I was.

Wanting to tell our immediate family at Christmas, we went in for an early appointment just to make sure everything was okay.  And it was!

My family wasn't all the shocked and most were expecting it!  Ryan's family wasn't quite as expecting but just as excited!

Then this week we shared our valentine's day news to everyone else!

Locked in

Well first Greta figured out how to open our mast bath door (it's the only one that has a handle and not the level kind)... and last night she discovered that she can lock it.  And unfortunately she cannot unlock it.

So tears started, mommy open door.  And I on the other side, kept saying, honey turn the lock back.  Anything to get her to try and unlock it.  Nothing.  So in a panic, I call Ryan, who is on his way home... Greta locked herself in the bathroom, what do I do?  Luckily he was almost home.

So me, not knowing what to do, keep trying to calm Greta down who's not happy she's locked in the bathroom and find a YouTube video with that door handle on how to pick it, and pick it with a bobby pin.

Ryan gets home, get a screwdriver and turns the thing on the outside and poof - open!  What?  Really that's all it took.  Oh well, she was out and was very upset.  Poor girl.  Maybe she learned her lesson though too!

Helpless

There's not a whole lot you can do for our babies when they are sick and for the first time I found that out with greta and possibly the stomach flu. Last night I woke up to her coughing and then crying and then crying saying wash hands. I immediately knew she at least spit up. But little did I know when I got to her and tried to wipe her hands on a wash cloth how bad it was.  All over herself and her sheet. And holy stink!

So I cleaned her up. Stripped the bed and out new sheets, got a new blanket. And no sooner, she threw up again. Not as much and I caught most of it - nasty but didn't puke myself. So to the bathroom we went and got cleaned up again. More new clothes. This time I started a lot of laundry because her lovies were victims this time.

So we moved to the couch to watch George with a bowl for our yuckies. And some water with a little apple juice in it. And then made it about 30 minutes and up it came but in the bowl. Ugh!

Luckily everyone and everything stayed clean. So we cuddled up and waited. Finally went back to her room to rock in the chair and she quickly fell asleep.

The strange thing after every time she was super happy once I got her cleaned up. Like she felt lots better and just had yucky food  in her to get out.

So I went to bed for a couple hours before getting up. Greta then slept in until  almost 8. And woke up happy and feeling good.

So bad mommy I sent her to school. And got a call about 8:30 that she just wanted to be held. But she was ok and could stay so I wait til 11 and called to check. She was laying on her cot and feeling yucky. So I went and got her and she was sleeping by the time I got there. So home to rest ... And rest she did took a 3+ hour nap.

Still a little down but no puking. So keeping my fingers crossed it was a weird stomach food thing and we don't all get the flu!

Lil miss bossy

Tonight while reading books, Greta stopped me and said not your turn mommy.

It took everything in my power not to laugh because are said it so matter of fact.

When she was done reading her book, she proceeded to tell me your turn mommy.

New mattress

So after ten years I decided we needed a new mattress. We had both been sleeping like crap so off we went to Art Van Pure Sleep. A great place if you're looking. They do an analysis and then recommend ones for you. Don't automatically try to sell you the top of the line but are open and honest. At least our sales lady was.

And after testing 3 out, we picked s temperpedic. And not just any ol one and by no means the top either, but walked out with what in my mind was a Cadillac. Slight buyers remorse but then we slept on it! And with our pillows all that worry went out the window. Hello better sleep.

Here's Greta enjoying it the first night. And yes it adjusts and massages!

Now we probably need new sheets and comforter to go with this fancy mattress- lol.

Misbehaving at the dinner table

So Greta has been a little pistol during dinner. She thinks it's okay to put your feet on the table.

So in a result to fix this. I pulled her chair away from the table. This then results of her getting mad. And then her rocking her chair. Almost to tipping her over. When I feel there's no resolve, I tell her she needs to go sit in the hallway.

This has backfired. She actually enjoys to go sit in the hallway. Tonight she actually asks to go sit there. Ugh!!

Now what??

Snowmageden

Well - we got our first big snow fall and it was major - about 15 + inches, all feel from Sunday morning through very early Monday morning.

Ryan went out and plowed with the quad about lunch time and it was pretty deep.  Then luckily for us, our awesome neighbor Scott came over just before the super bowl and plowed the circle drive, behind the garage and all the way to the barn!  When he started plowing, we didn't even know who it was.  So so grateful to have a nice, thoughtful neighbor.

Monday morning we work up to LOTS and LOTS of snow.  Greta's day care actually was closed and that never happens unless they don't have power. About 8:00 am, Ryan decided to attempt to go to the office, and made it about a mile from the house and decided it wasn't worth it and turned around. So we tag teamed Greta and work all day.  He also shoveled the front walk - a major workout!

And luckily again, Scott came over and plowed one more time for us! And by about 5:30 pm, the plow finally came down our road so there was hope I could get out the next day.

Also finally decided to bundle up and bundle up Greta and go out for a little bit on the porch while Ryan shoveled.  And I figured out that as long as Greta isn't cold, she loves the snow.  Once she gets cold, she's done and wants to be picked up and go inside.  Oh well.  Got some cute pictures and I got to make a snow angel.

American Sniper

What a movie!  I knew a little bit about the movie and the story of Chris Kyle, but after the movie and several tears, I was completely in awe.  When I left the theater, I felt depressed.  But after thinking more about it, I realized the power and inspiring story I just watched.  I am overly grateful and appreciative of the people that serve our country that put their life in jeopardy and put their country and military brothers and sisters first.  It takes a unique individual to do what he did.

And his wife... I again am in awe.  Her strength is something to be admired.  She was able to keep her family together in rough times and then make it even better once he came home.  Even when she wanted to give up, her pushed on.  And then after Chris was killed, she continues to tell and share his story.

So to all the men and women that serve, thank you.  And to all the wives and husbands, thank you.

Grandma visit

After we drove to Saginaw last weekend for Julie's birthday, all Greta kept saying was See Grandma Papa.  Well no Papa but she did convince Grandma to come for the weekend.  She drove down Friday night and luckily left early Sunday morning before the feet of snow came.

And Greta had a blast.  She got to "wake Grandma up" two mornings in a row - her favorite thing. I got to clean a little while she played in bed with Grandma and read books. We also got a visit from Aunt Mary, and thanks to Grandma being there, we were able to sneak off for lunch and little shopping at Kohls. First time in a long time I can remember having lunch out without Greta.  So much of a different experience.

And mom also did a little impromptu photo shoot for us... pictures coming soon! And yes we got a good one!

When we got home, Ryan and I decided to quick go to the movies and see American Sniper - one we'd both been wanting to see.  Great, great movie... see my next post about that.

Then it was back home to make Chicken Chili for mom for baby-sitting.  Gotta love cheap baby-sitters :-)  And then a night in.

Greta playing one of her favorites... is mommy sleeping?

And then I wake up and yell, I'm awake.  And she giggles and giggles!

Mom left bright and early Sunday to try and beat some of the snow.  She made it home in one piece.
